Miss Indonesian food so much and decided to try this place! It’s not disappointed me! The Indonesian nasi goreng is the highlight!! It’s so bold, flavorful, and spicy. It’s so delicious. The topping was also generous. We also tried Char Kway Teow. When we first got it, the noodle is very hard, so we tell our server ... and they fix it right away for us! It’s so umami but it’s a bit salty in my opinion. We also tried tofu bites with satay sauce. The tofu they are using is a Japanese soft tofu. With little peanut sauce on top. went to Mamak on a Monday around 6 PM and the place was already pretty packed, which is always a good sign. I ordered the Chicken Satay skewers, the Mamak Nasi Goreng, and split the Crispy Pork Belly with a friend and everything exceeded my expectations. The Crispy Pork Belly was the standout. Perfectly seasoned, ... tender on the inside, and fire‑roasted until the outside was golden and crunchy. Not fatty at all, just that ideal crisp bite. It paired beautifully with the dipping sauce (pretty sure it was hoisin), which added the right amount of sweetness and depth. The Chicken Satay skewers were another hit. The chicken was incredibly moist, fall‑off‑the‑skewer tender, and full of herby flavor. The peanut sauce that came with it was so good I asked for extra , it was rich, creamy, and balanced. The Mamak Nasi Goreng was classic comfort. Wok‑fried with shrimp, chicken, eggs, and onions, topped with fried shallots and scallions. Flavorful, smoky, and satisfying without being greasy. For the quality and portions, the prices were surprisingly reasonable. I honestly expected it to be more expensive given how good everything was.
